To outline the privacy principles to which Cognithan Rehab Services adheres and set out its practices relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, including employee personal information, recognizing the need for Cognithan to collect, use and disclose personal information while managing and administering the employment relationship.
Cognithan is committed to protecting individual privacy and ensures the collection, use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the requirements within applicable provincial or territorial private sector privacy legislation and the principles set out in the Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Staff are accountable to maintain the confidentiality and security of personal information they have access to or become aware of during their role, and shall only collect, use, disclose and retain personal information in accordance with this policy.
Breach of this policy is a serious matter and may result in discipline up to and including dismissal without notice or pay in lieu thereof.

Cognithan takes all reasonable measures to address any access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, retention or disposal of Personal Information in our systems in accordance with relevant legislation. In the event of a Privacy breach incident, Cognithan will take reasonable measures to contain and mitigate such a breach and ascertain its harm to individuals whose Personal Information has been affected and issue all required notifications through a clear communications and escalation process in accordance with relevant legislation.
